Discover peace and comfort in the embrace of Berastagi, a highland sanctuary that provides relief from the oppressive humidity of the rainforest. Its mild environment makes it ideal for the cultivation of mouthwatering fruits and vegetables, which are celebrated in the bustling market there. Indulge your senses as you embark on an adventure through a kaleidoscope of flavours and colours.
Additionally, Berastagi serves as a port of entry for volcanic investigation. Conquer the slopes of Mount Sibayak, an approachable mountain that rises to a height of 2100 meters, and you will be rewarded with a sunrise that is difficult to put into words. Mount Sinabung presents an intimidatingly steep obstacle at 2,400 meters, which can only be conquered with the assistance of an experienced guide.
After conquering the volcano, you could treat yourself to a relaxing dip at the hot spring to ease any aching limbs.
Alternatively, indulge in some local culture and learn about the history in the local museums or explore the Karo Batak traditional houses and the Buddist Temple
